Have to send two carpets to France. They were sent to me rolled and folded in strong plastic canvas ‘bags’ tightly wrapped and bound with plastic string oversewing. Am having problems as shippers insist on boxes. Sizes are 93x20x40cms 15 kgs, and 127x58x37 32kgs. Where do I locate boxes of this size. Any suggestions welcome. removal companies seem to have standard squarish boxes only. Thanks.
You may need to find an actual box manufacturer and see if they have something like that in a standard size.
It couldn’t hurt to check with another shipping company as well. Perhaps a different one won’t be as demanding about it being in a box.
Check at the UPS or Post Office

Try a store in your area that sells lots of carpets. Ask them how their carpets are shipped. If any use boxes, perhaps they could save a few for you.

The best way to send an expensive carpet so it does’nt get crimp lines in it is to roll it up and crate it. Go to a "Pallet" company, they will make an inexpensive crate to lay the carpet in and the shippinc co. will except in with out any problems. Have done this myself a few times without any hassles, in fact the shipping co. complimented me. John P.
