Filed under: removal boxes — admin @ 1:39 pm

What is the cheapest way to move 6 boxes, 2 suitcases and a 5ft mirror from Edinburgh to Reading. I need to have them moved within the next two weeks. Can anyone recomend a removal company that will do a part load?

if there are a few people the train would probably be your cheapest option, How much are you looking on spending. i know some couriers/chauffeurs. i run a chauffeur company and sometimes get cheap deals if they are in the area. better to come bak half full and half fare than empty…

I want to move to Brazil from England. Are there any removal companies that would transport my furniture?

Filed under: furniture removals — admin @ 1:39 pm

I have a house in England and want to move it’s contents to Brazil. I am having trouble finding soemone who can move it. The only quotes I have had have been for many thousands

I know the feeling. I wanted to transport some books from Australia to Brazil and was quoted £200 a whisky box. Try out some of the shipping lines. Or if there are courier services that may offer advice. I would also see if it would be cheaper to hire a freight container, or half a container and transport stuff independently that way.

Good luck. I may be needing to do the same from Scotland to Brazil sometime soon, so would be interested in any advice you have/.

Best wishes ABanana

Many of the larger well established companies do overseas shipping to a high standard.
Pick up the free magazines available weekly on the streets geared at the backpackers and they have lots of shipping agents listed in them.

The Best Place For Your Tools

Filed under: removal boxes — admin @ 7:57 am

A tool box that has all the right tools, and that you can get out and use easily, will make your life as a homeowner (or even a renter) infinitely easier. Gather all of the common tools you need for just about every job, invest in a sturdy tool box, and keep it in an easy to reach place, and each time you have a small problem like a picture falling down, you will not be tempted to put it off since everything will be ready for you.

After a while, you may feel you need extra features and space, and a real toolbox will give those to you.

If you are just starting out in acquiring your tools, a small tackle box may serve the purpose of a tool box, as long as it is sturdy and big enough to hold the basic tools. There are even tools boxes that have molded spaces to fit the various tools perfectly.

So what tools do you want in your toolbox? Here is what you should have, at a minimum.

- A home repair manual. This is not a tool, but you will use it often when you come across problems, so keep it right in your tool box for reference.

- A hammer. No one can do without a hammer for the most basic repairs such as if piece of trim is loose. A claw hammer has a claw that can remove nails. There are a lot of other kinds of hammers, such as framing hammer, balpeen hammer, a mallet or a sledge hammer. You will learn from experience if you need any of these.

- Screwdriver. You tighten or loosen screws with a screwdriver. It is a simple enough tool with a handle, shaft and head. The two basic kinds you should have are a slotted and a Phillips. A few of these in different sizes should handle most jobs. Again, as you learn more, you may want to have a crosspoint or a hex screwdriver as well.

- Pliers. Pliers enable you to grab things firmly. But there are also pliers that do more than grip, such as cutting pliers or crimping pliers for electrical work. But even gripping pliers come in different types such as flat nose, round nose and needle nose.

- Tape measure. You don’t even want to start a job if you can’t measure it. You can get a tape measure that is metallic ribbon in a retracting case, but even if you just start out with a cloth tap measure that you roll up, you will need at least 25 foot length in your toolbox.

- A saw. There are different types of saws depending on the material to be cut. A saw is simply a serrated blade with a handle and you can have a hand saw, which may be enough for a basic tool set, or a powered saw. A frame saw may be needed for larger jobs.

- Putty knife. This is used for scraping and applying putty, but it has other uses as well. The flexible blade can be squeezed under many surfaces to help in removal.

- Wrench. You will add leverage when you are turning nuts and bolts if you use a wrench. The open end wrench is the basic kind that you can lock to a certain size to grasp the nut or bolt. Other types are box end, crescent, socket and allen wrench.

- Awl. Primarily used in woodworking, it starts a hole before you start drilling, or you can draw a line with an awl to use as a guide for your saw.

Laundry Cleaning Tips to Remove Stains

Filed under: removers — admin @ 1:40 am

One day you were in a coffee shop buying your favorite morning cappuccino and then someone accidentally bumps you splattering coffee over your white blouse. Your day is ruined and you have to purchase a new blouse at a nearby store and then have your blouse dry cleaned. That was before, now it’s different.

When you’re out for work, or lunch, don’t forget to bring spot removers. Instant spot removers are widely available in stores and they are reasonably priced. If you always carry one around any time of the day, you don’t have to experience the same scenario again and prevent future ones from happening. Spot removers are easy to use; just spray the product on the stain and blot it with a cloth and the stain will be removed.

Other stains like grease grass, and blood are almost impossible to remove. Stain sticks are often used to clean this kind of stains. Simply set your washer for hot water and use electricity to clean your stained clothes. Don’t forget to use you stain stick by twisting it up or down, or you can even rub them directly on the stain. These sticks blast the stains with enzymes to prevent the setting of the stain and to break it down.

The key ingredients of most stain removers are special enzymes that remove the stains. You can easily find conventional stain removers in grocery stores and you’re guaranteed that the stains will be removed. By investing a small amount of money on these stain removers, you can extend the usefulness of your clothes that are kept stain free.

These days, quality clothing is very expensive and finding just a small stain is really frustrating. But your case isn’t hopeless. If you consider the above mentioned laundry cleaning tips, you can prolong your clothes’ life and lower your bills from the dry cleaners.

10 Advantages of Light Therapy

Filed under: removal boxes — admin @ 1:40 am

Weakness and disease are inescapable facts of life. You could fall prey to a pathogenic bacterium that could eat away your skin. You could catch a deadly virus that could lodge in and weaken your lungs. You could be sick because of sunlight, or you could be sick because of depression related to the weather.

Sickness is inevitable, but suffering is optional. There are many therapies available to cure sickness, or to alleviate the pain of its symptoms. You can take medicines or be injected with them. These medicines are engineered in the laboratory to destroy infectious agents by either breaking open their cell walls, or targeting pathogenesis-related genes in their genetic material.

You can also be given vaccines to protect you from future infections. Vaccines are actually a mild version of the pathogen, and mimic the presence of the pathogen in your body. It is this mimicry that, in turn, triggers a mild immune response, which leads to your body producing cells that will keep you from succumbing to infections when you grow older.

Surgery is the last resort when trying to cure a disease. Parts of damaged organs can be removed, so that they do no further harm to the body. Whole organs may also be transplanted into you to ease the body of its burden of trying to use an organ destroyed by pathogens. You may be fitted with prosthetics, given chemical treatments, or tumors can be taken away for biopsy.

Thanks to modern technology and discoveries in science, these are not the only ways that diseases can be treated. Laboratory research has found that certain frequencies of light can actually kill pathogens or even rejuvenate cells. As a result, laboratories and clinics now specialize in research and applications in light therapy.

Certain wavelengths of light can have different effects on living organisms. Ultraviolet, or UV light, for example, can destroy bacteria. Lasers can change the configurations of molecules. Alternating periods of light and darkness can cause different plants to fruit or flower, and can change sleep rhythms in humans as well.

Light therapy exploits these properties of light and uses them to create regimens that can help cure, or alleviate the pain brought about by certain diseases. Light therapy can also be used for cosmetic purposes, and is often used in psychiatry to relieve weather-related depression.

Also known as phototherapy, light therapy involves exposing subjects to specific light wavelengths using light emitting diodes (LED), lasers, fluorescent lamps, or bright lights emitting all the colors of the spectrum. Such procedures will be prescribed for a short period of time, and are non-invasive. That is, they will not involve surgery or other penetrating therapeutics, and can thus ease the anxiety of the needle-fearing, scalpel-phobic patient.

What are the advantages of using light therapy?
– Light therapy is a non-invasive method that can kill acne-causing bacteria. Acne removal can be painful if done in a dermatologist’s clinic, with only piercing equipment and syringes. Thanks to advances in light therapy, these bacteria can be destroyed when the light penetrates their cell walls, thus stopping them from causing more acne.
– Lack of light, as well as the gray air of winter, can trigger depression. Light therapy can treat depression disorders by giving patients various amounts of light, awakening the brain into thinking that the less gray seasons of summer and spring have come. This prevents patients from taking anti-depression medications, which can have side effects.
– Light therapy can work into the body’s sleep rhythm, or circadian rhythm. Research shows that our sleep habits are governed by light, and light therapy exploits this fact by giving patients varying amounts of light at designated times of the day. This keeps patients from taking tranquilizers to get a good night’s sleep. It can also alleviate the pain of jet lag for frequent travelers.
– Light therapy can treat skin diseases like psoriasis and eczema at a much faster pace than other therapeutics. Ointments and shampoos need months, even years to fully take effect.
– If you are miles away from the beach, but still want to get a tan, you can go to an accredited tanning salon for UV light therapy. At safe doses, UV light can give you the tan that you want without you worrying about overexposure to the sun’s harmful rays.
– Light therapy users claim that light rejuvenates their cells and gives them a more youthful, glowing look. This means less spending on expensive ointments and elixirs promising to turn back the clock on skin.
– Light therapy has been shown to be largely effective for at least ninety percent of patients.
– Light therapy can be done at home, with special light boxes. Although expensive, rising demand can lower the prices of such light boxes.
– When done with the supervision of experts, light therapy can be controlled, and its effects monitored accordingly. That is, the amount of light, its intensity, and frequency can be measured and adjusted easily.
– Light therapy is safe for many patients, if placed under the control and supervision of accredited experts.

If you think that light therapy is for you, consult with your doctor, and find out what clinics are accredited and certified in your area. If you fear needles and scalpels, but want to get cured and get better, then light therapy might just be the answer you are looking for.
